Alpha Feeds Sponsor First Mushing Rally in Northern Ireland

PERFORMANCE dog food experts, Alpha Feeds are to sponsor the first ever, dry land mushing rally in Northern Ireland, this autumn.

Organised by the Siberian Husky Club of Northern Ireland, they will be holding the rally on Sunday 11th November in the grounds of Castle Ward in County Down.

Explains one of the organisers Diane McFarlane: “Dry land mushing, as an organised sport, in Northern Ireland is relatively new.

“However there are significant numbers of people throughout the country who own Siberian Huskies and are keen to participate in this sport.

“I have four Siberian Huskies, all working dogs that look great on food from the Alpha range so to have their support for this exciting new event is brilliant.

“One of my dogs has a particularly sensitive stomach and I found that the Alpha High Performance was very much to her liking.”

Added Sean Cox of Alpha Feeds: “We are delighted to be supporting this inaugural event which is a very exciting new venture for mushing in Northern Ireland.

“Alpha High Performance is ideally suited to these dogs that need to be in the peak of fitness with stamina and plenty of energy.”

Over the two days classes include 3/4 dog, 1/2 dog, Freight, Canicross, Bikejor and Junior dog.

Prizes will include Alpha High Performance, which is the ultimate in performance dog feed, nutritionally formulated to give excellent body development, optimum muscle and bone advancement and boundless energy in order to exceed the rigours of racing.

Earlier this year at the prestigious Aviemore Sled Dog Rally, Alpha fed a number of champions including the six dog team, won by Pete Jones, the four dog team won by Kev Spooner and the Junior section won by Hannah Jones, rounding off a hugely successful event for dogs fed on Alpha performance dog food.
