Borzoi Breeders Strike Gold

Well known Borzoi breeders Nigel and Elizabeth Dawson have had many major successes over the years but one of their latest stars is taking the showing world by storm.

Nigel, Elizabeth and their son Andrew run Stubbylee Kennels in Bacup, Lancashire and have been breeding Borzois since 1985.

Last year Stubbylee Jazz Diva J.W. crowned a hugely successful 2009 by finishing the top Borzoi in the UK.

The family currently have eight Borzois at home along with Andrew’s two Border Collies which he also shows.

With a huge amount of knowledge and experience, the Dawson’s also recognise the importance of good nutrition and what works when it comes to producing show ring champions.

Explains Elizabeth: “Borzois will often be perfectly happy on a certain type of food for a short time but then soon become bored and won’t eat it.

“After trying numerous varieties with little success we started to feed Alpha Gold Moist Muesli and have never looked back.

“All the adult dogs are fed on the Alpha Gold Moist Muesli and we start the puppies on Alpha Sporting Puppy.

“Diva is now three and she continues to thrive and looks fantastic which must have something to do with Alpha Gold. We make sure they get plenty of exercise and are well fed, so the results speak for themselves.”
