Throughout the show, Lucy and Ben took part in three competitions, making for a busy few days.
In the YKC Agility Senior competition the event failed to go to plan with Ben eliminated as he struggled to cope with the surface on his first run. The next event, the Crufts Singles saw Lucy and Ben complete with 10 faults, a better result but at this stage Ben was still not relaxed on the surface.
However it all came right in their third competition when the talented duo came home with a very fast clear to beat the other 23 competitors. Said Lucy: “Crufts didn’t go to plan initially but I was delighted when Ben finally got his confidence in the YKC Jumping class.
“At first he really didn’t cope well with the surface and took the wrong jump and I could only hope he would improve for the later competitions.”
“In the final event he really was fast and we beat our nearest rival by about two seconds. Ben looks in great shape and I am very grateful to Alpha Feeds and their performance dog food for helping him to be in the best possible health.”
