Alpha Supports Local RSPCA Ferret Show

NORTH Nottinghamshire-based Alpha Feeds, well known for its range of ferret and small animal feeds lent a helping hand to the Bawtry branch of the RSPCA in a bid to raise money to fund a new ferret unit.

Taking in any stray, needy, sick or injured ferrets, the RSPCA at Bawtry held a show in order to raise money for the refurbishment of their ferret unit.

Held at the RSPCA site the show saw a number of demonstrations on ferret welfare including ear cleaning and nail clipping and talks on the importance of correct feeding.

Alpha Feeds supported the event by donating bags of Ferret Feast for the winning ferrets.

Said Helen Green, a local ferret owner and helper of the RSPCA: “We are extremely grateful for the support Alpha Feeds has given us. We have been fund raising for the Bawtry branch for around two years now and the show has given us a real boost.”

Around £200 was raised and the event was well supported by local ferret owners, with over 134 entries. A good day was had by all and the weather was perfect.

Said John Walgate of Alpha Feeds: “We were very happy to help out at a local event that promotes improved ferret welfare.”
