Well known as an expert in the world of ferreting – Simon Whitehead of Pakefield Ferrets passes on his skills and knowledge at country shows and fairs throughout the summer months.
And his hard work and passion for conversation have been rewarded after securing support from North Nottinghamshire firm Alpha Feeds.
The company has agreed to provide Ferret Feast for Pakefield Ferrets and will also sponsor Simon when he is out and about at shows and events.
John Walgate of Alpha Feeds said: “we are keen to support those in the country community wanting to preserve traditional methods and country pursuits.
“Whether promoting Ferret Feast or the Alpha dog food range many of our customers are from the country sporting world and we wanted to give something back by supporting Simon in his work.”
Explains Simon: “The rabbit population in 2007 has been estimated at 45 million and is raising annually by 2%, causing upwards of a conservatively estimated £150 million worth of damage to the environment each year.
“Ferreting is a way of life and I really enjoy passing on my skills and knowledge at shows around the country. I am delighted to be working with Alpha Feeds and really appreciate their support this season.”
